With 2018 here and already in motion, I'm already feeling like I have so many things to do on my goal list. I need to remember that I can't pull off everything at once and need to chunk it down.
Decide What You Want
The first thing you'll want to do is decide what you want. How will it make you feel when you reach those goals? This is the only thing that will push you to follow through and do all the things most people won't do to reach those goals.
Believe in Yourself
Secondly, believe. Believing is a huge part of what holds us back. You need to give up the "I can't" attitude. This will make you weaker.
Write Down + Review
Take a moment to write down your goals and share them publicly. Review them often by writing it down in a planner, notebook or a note on your phone. You'll want to review them at least 3 times a day. Seriously.
Chunk It Down
Chunk it down and break down your goals. For instance, you want to make $100, 000 or more this year. Great! What will it take for you to accomplish that monthly? Weekly? Daily? If we're always just looking at the bigger picture we get discouraged and it never seems attainable to us. What income producing activities will help you get closer to reaching those goals?
No's would include scrolling on Facebook, cleaning the house, watching tv or shopping on the internet.
Things you want to do would be the following:
- Finding prospects
- Inviting people to take a look at your product or business
- Presenting the product or business opportunity
Suggestion ... create a daily to-do list. Oh, and did I mention the night before. That way you wake up in the morning ready to roll.
Break down your list into what you're least likely wanting to work on first at the top of your list so that it's not in the back of your mind the entire day. Just do it!
Don't get bogged down with planning too much. Don't try to perfect everything before you take action. Get into the motion even if everything is perfect.
Get Organized
Get organized. When you're not organized it just slows you down and takes you off track including your momentum. Have a follow-up system in place. Whether it's an app on your phone, planner or good 'ol pen and paper you have to have a consistent method.
Don't Doubt Yourself
Be Fearless! Stop creating your own self-doubt. Most of the time our own insecurities are all in our head. We run ourselves down and less confident in our own abilities when we are constantly worried about what others think. Stop it! When you become aware that you are doing this to yourself watch and see what a bad ass you become.
Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
All progress takes place outside your comfort zone. If it's starting a new business or joining an MLM and you're afraid of rejection, failing or what others may think. You need to stop. If you don't do it someone else will. Think of all the things that you could gain from taking the chance instead of that one fear that's holding you back.
Remember, you are never too old to set a goal or dream a new dream. Never put an age to your success.
Find Your Why
Your why is not a goal. It's the feeling you get once you accomplish that goal. What will it do for you and your family? I also include my family to find out their goals and why. Why? Because as I'm working or need to concentrate and the kids are going crazy or too loud I let them know why I'm doing what I'm doing to get to that goal of taking them to Disneyland. I also blurt out all the feels they'll get when we're there mentioning having fun, eating turkey legs, and riding rides together. The why is crucial to keeping you moving especially on those days you don't feel like doing anything.
It's never too late to get started just get moving!
Set those goals so you can spend more time with your family doing the things you love. This is how I'm able to take my kids on vacations to one of our favorite trips ... Disneyland!
