Call me crazy but I feel selfish when I do something without my kids. I'm that mom that tries to take my kids every where I go on vacations, work events, dinners and even special moments like anniversaries. Over the years and 3 kids later I have found that it's nearly impossible to not take a break. It's so important to take care of yourself first so you can be the best mom to your kids. It's not being selfish it's necessary.
Self-care is so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. (- Eleanor Brown)
The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have. Being a mom is not easy but it's definitely worth it all at the end of the day! Mom Life is the Best Life but you do need that time to yourself and with your spouse alone. Self-care is about giving your kids, husband, friends and your career the best of you, instead of what's left of you! Make a promise to yourself today to hold your well-being sacred.
Recharge your batteries and try this 30 Day Challenge for mamas to incorporate self-care into your daily routines without taking up too much time.
1. Take note of what you did for yourself every day.
2. Write down what you were thankful for.
3. How did it make you feel?
Every day try one of the following activities for yourself. You can start however you like just be sure to do one each day. And, if you tell someone like your hubby about this challenge it will help you keep your promise on your goal. It takes 21 days of consistently doing something to create a habit. My hope for you is that by the end of this challenge you learn that self-care is important for us as mamas. That it's not selfish to take a moment to ourselves and do things for ourselves!
