8 Fall Family Activities That Won't Break the Bank - With Love Rochelle

8 Fall Family Activities That Won't Break the Bank

Lately, I've shared with you that I have slowed down dramatically to spend more time with my family.  With growing kids and so many opportunities for them to be exposed to things at school I need to be more involved on a daily basis.  This Fall i'm taking a challenge to spend more quality time doing fun activities, homework, getting outside more often or simply making a homemade meal together.  I do have to say I've noticed a dramatic change in just in the last few weeks making more time for them.

This past weekend we took a trip to Dell'Osso Family Farms with the kids and my sister and her family.  With so many things to do we spent close to 6 hours riding rides, going through a haunted house, hay rides, feeding animals at the petting zoo and also attempted the corn maze but it was too muddy.  The day was amazing being outside in the 70 degree weather with no rain in sight.  The kids loved the freedom to run free and spend time with each other .

I do have to admit that I probably over did it with the sweets on this trip.  I managed to try the best smore I've tasted in my life.  Imagine a graham cracker filled with Hershey's chocolate, marshmallows and fried bacon!  It was so delicious that I will definitely make these with the kids real soon.  And let me not forget to mention the fresh strawberry lemonade, gigantic M&M caramel apple and a fresh pumpkin pie to go!

If you're looking for inexpensive ideas to do with the family I put together a few ideas I have in mind to do during November.  I would love to hear any ideas you're currently planning !

  5. And how was the bacon Smore? I'm always hesitant to include anything salty with the chocolate.

    1. The smore wasn't salty at all. It actually made the sweetness from the marshmallows less sweet. It was yummy!
